This group has more features to come, including resources/links as well as activities such as contests and "member of the month"....Eventually. In the meantime, always feel free to offer suggestions or ask questions. --------------------------------------------------------------  First and Foremost The primary focus of this group is directed towards the gentlemen and gentlewomen of 18th (1700s) and 19th (1800s) century Great Britain. Everything else (images etcetera that are not specifically of people and/or pertain to 18th/19th century Europe in general) is acceptable, but not the group's focal point. --------------------------------------------------------------  I wanna join! You're LYING!!1 Well, ok, if you do-- just send a join request; it's automatically accepted. --------------------------------------------------------------  Contributing to the Gallery Art can be submitted at any time and is automatically approved, so if you wish to contribute, there's no need to hesitate-- and if you want to add a lot of pictures, that's fine! Just don't outright flood the gallery. You don't have to feel obligated to readily submit work, either; everyone can participate at their own pace. Please be sure to add your picture to the gallery folder that best suits it; if you are unsure, however, simply add it to the Featured folder. --------------------------------------------------------------  Submitting Blog Entries The blog is primarily used as a means of discussion. Anyone is allowed to start their own conversation topic-- in fact, I encourage it. All I ask is that you follow a few simple rules: 1. Make sure that the subject of your blog is relevant to the group's focus. 2. Unless the entry is exceptionally important, involves news, or proposes a contest or the like, only one blog entry is allowed every seven days. --------------------------------------------------------------  Some Questions and Answers (Cos I don't like answering the same things asked by different people-- but if you do still have questions, feel free to ask; I'm happy to help.) Q: How about characters that are modern but dress and behave like Victorian gentlemen (etcetera)? Or characters that are from stories about the time period, though not from it? A: Both are fine, and the latter would have to be acceptable in order for anyone to submit images of OCs, anyway. Q: Are manipulations of the time period (like Steampunk) acceptable? A: The previous answer was "yes", therefore this one is, too. Q: Do the "people" have to be human? I prefer to draw anthros and/or monsters etc, but they still dress according to the time period. A: Perfectly acceptable. Consider Alice in Wonderland: it's full of anthropomorphic animals and strange creatures. Q: My story/OCs are either situated a little earlier or later than the 18th/19th century. Is that ok? A: As long as it's very close to the time range (let's say 1670-1700s or 1899-1910), I've no reason to complain. Q: My story/character/costume/etc is about the early 1700s, but it's focused on colonial America. Does that mean I can't post it here? A: Actually, you can, because the American colonies were still considered British for a time, so that counts. Q: Which countries are in Great Britain? ....No seriously, I honestly don't know! A: *blinks* Ah, well-- Great Britain is composed of England, Scotland, and Wales. Q: What if all of my characters are German!? A: Still Europe, works for me. Q: I don't like you. A: This isn't a question. Next. Q: Wait, so based on the group description, if I don't like to draw people, but I still draw or write about things that pertain to the time periods, that's fine? A: Absolutely. Q: BAAAWW!!! I don't draw very well! I shouldn't submit anything, should I!? A: Oi! Insecurity and complaining are my jobs! D8 |
